“Paul lived and worked with Priscilla and Aquila, for they were tentmakers just as he was.” (Acts 18:3, NLT)
When Paul got to Corinth, he met Aquila and Priscilla. They had had to leave Rome and had moved to Corinth. They quickly became friends and because Paul was a tent maker just like Aquila and Priscilla, they invited him to come and live with them. Paul spent his time making tents to help support himself and spent the rest of his time talking with people about Jesus. Not everyone was happy with his message, but God told him not to be afraid. So Paul stayed in the city, with his new friends, telling everyone who would listen about Jesus.
Think about it...
• Paul didn’t always get to spend a long time in the places he visited. Why was it different in Corinth?
• In Corinth, Paul met Aquila and Priscilla. What work did they do?
• They invited Paul to live with them. How did Paul spend his time when he wasn’t making tents?
• God provided Paul with some friends. How did they help one another?
Prayer: Thank you, God, that you will help us meet people so that we can help one another. Thank you that Aquila and Priscilla were willing to share their home with Paul. Help me to be quick to help others too.
